by admin477351

Elon Musk has introduced a prototype of the Tesla Roadster 2 equipped with rocket-thruster technology from his aerospace company, SpaceX. Unveiled during a demonstration in Texas, the electric sports car showcased its ability to drive up a curved ramp and utilize thrusters for aerial maneuvers before landing safely. This demonstration highlights Musk’s vision of a potential flying car that can perform rolls and complex movements using altitude controls and rear-mounted thrusters.

Musk noted the demonstration was conducted remotely to minimize safety risks and acknowledged that the vehicle’s flying capabilities might not be legal in all jurisdictions. Despite the ambitious showcase, Tesla has emphasized that these capabilities are not intended for use on public roads, underscoring the need for regulatory approval and addressing safety concerns.

The Tesla Roadster 2 is slated to enter production in 2028, with an expected price tag exceeding $200,000. The company plans to offer different versions of the vehicle, including a performance model and a specialized variant featuring the thrust system. Notably, a single-seat rocket version with a full flight system is proposed to be available by invitation only, hinting at its exclusivity and advanced technology.

While the demonstration captures Musk’s ambition to merge electric vehicle technology with rocket propulsion, the practicality, safety requirements, and regulatory approvals remain significant hurdles. As Tesla pushes the boundaries of automotive innovation, these factors will be crucial in determining the feasibility of bringing such a groundbreaking vehicle to market.
