Qatar has welcomed recent decisions by the Netherlands and Belgium to prohibit the import of goods produced in Israeli settlements. The Qatari government regards these measures as crucial steps towards addressing ongoing settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar issued a statement highlighting that these bans align with international efforts to deter settlement expansion. It emphasized that such activities are in violation of international law and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334. By taking these actions, the Netherlands and Belgium contribute to a broader initiative aimed at discouraging Israel’s settlement policies.
Qatar’s foreign ministry expressed optimism that other nations would follow suit and implement similar bans.
